Caring for care staff during Covid 19
We have all relied on our care staff throughout the pandemic. We asked staff to put themselves (and often their families) on the line for us. As the pandemic starts to recede, we need to look out for them and support them through this further phase.
These Intensive Care Society posters offer invaluable advice for clinicians, support staff and managers on pacing yourself and your teams, the importance of meeting basic needs, staying well psychologically, and avoiding burnout. They were important at the beginning of the pandemic. They are just as important now, as the long term toll on people starts to tell.
